What to Expect

I am taking new patients. My services are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, based on teaching emotional regulation coping tools & skills. My services are out of network with insurance. I do not contract with any private health insurance. Please let me know if your child has Medicaid health insurance.

First apt is parent intake (50-60min)

This includes a parent interview and a standardized behavioral health screener. Additionally, I will be a review of any prior educational or psychological testing.

Second apt, and follow up apts (45 min)

The second apt is clinical interview with child/teen.  You will receive clinical impressions and an evidence based treatment plan which will include a discussion of appointment frequency based on your child’s need and progress.

My practice is telehealth

I use doxy a hipaa secure video/audio platform.  Kids are allowed comfort items, help them secure a private working space (eg earbuds or headphone can help).

Parent Communication

Based on your child’s development and age, at our first session, we will discuss the clinically indicated communication methods for behavioral updates. This may include emailed treatment updates, brief parent check-ins or a parent only meeting.

Scheduling

At session one, we will schedule weekly apts for the upcoming month. Each month we will reevaluate progress towards therapy treatment goals. I encourage you to also converse with your child about their perceptions of therapy. We will schedule appointments at beginning of the month for the upcoming month. Cognitive behavioral therapy is typically brief.
